![]() When given the chance, were mediocre shooters. ![]() It’s basically the same thing for both guys. What’s really crazy is he’s become a consistent NBA player out of nowhere. He went just 5 for 22 from beyond the arc in his last 11 games. But he never found consistent flow in an offense with several stars. He barely played in 2016 but in the 2017 season, he got decent minutes. But he really had one skill and that was shooting the basketball. One of the least productive regular players in the Calipari era.Īnother guy that some fans would argue was misused in his two seasons. The guy got almost THIRTY minutes a game for that team, playing point guard, and still got under 3 assists per game. The 2021 squad had lots of problems but they all originated with Askew’s inability to run the offense. But because of the era he played in, he is considered one of the biggest flops in school history.ĭespite becoming one of the all-time greats at Texas, his time at Kentucky was a disaster. His one season, had it been played in the 1980s or early 1990s, would have been considered a solid freshman season. Instead, nobody brought greater frustration to the fanbase. This was supposed to be the next great big man. But Skal plummets to near the bottom because of his expectations against production. On the list of players in this tier, Skal actually had better stats than many of them. People can blame Cal all they want, but Allen’s time at UK was floptastic. And for all the talk about what a great scorer and shooter he was, he shot 35.7% from the field and 33% from three for his two-year career. He had one great moment and that’s about it. Look, fans can complain all they want about Allen’s time in Lexington but at some point, the player has to take responsibility for not earning his playing time. But his time at Kentucky was certainly a flop. What made it worse is he became a two-year starter and double-digit scorer for a Final Four team. It just wasn’t working for Matthews and he bolted for Michigan after one year. But despite all of that, he averaged just 1.7 points per game on a team that struggled to score at times. He got double-digit minutes in 19 games that season. An AAU teammate of Tyler Ulis, Matthews got some significant playing time in that 2016 year. Matthews came in following the 38-1 season and many thought he would be the next in line of great freshman players. Below are my rankings in Flop Tier, starting with player #77. Yesterday, we ranked players 104 through 78. Out of the 104 players, I ranked 21 players as FLOPS at Kentucky.

The irradiated remains of New York, military facilities, and a New Orleans that’s become a walled-in ghetto are all pretty gloomy with only occasional eye-catching spectacle, but they’re dotted with details and readable bits of life in a fascist alternate reality that make exploration worthwhile. “Wolfenstein 2’s linear series of levels is made up almost entirely of the kind of dreary settings you’d expect from Nazi-occupied America. Every time that happened I wished there were a killcam that focused on the gloating enemy who’d gotten me so that I’d know what to look out for next time. Because of BJ’s fragility (and the fact that I played through on the “Do or Die!” difficulty level, one notch above normal) I died quite a bit – often without knowing exactly what had killed me. You’ll still be pushing the button quite a bit, but it’s not nearly as annoying as it was in the first game. The New Colossus finds a much happier medium between that and the more common first-person shooter design of Hoovering up any item you even look at – here, many items can be picked up by walking directly over them with a small auto-grab radius. That’s an area where The New Order was rightly criticized for making us push the pick-up button for every single individual item we wanted to grab, including small-value armor scraps that fall off of enemies. ![]() You’ve got to keep moving and play cautiously to stay alive, grabbing health, armor, and ammo items where you can find them (often off of Nazi corpses). “BJ may be a buffed-out killing machine with a suit of armor, but he’s not a tank. Upgrade kits are rare, so the choices you make feel more important – I only had around half the possible upgrades by the time I finished (though I’m sure I missed quite a few). Speaking of upgrades, each weapon has three potential enhancements like scopes, extra ammo capacity, and other things that change their behavior in ways more interesting than just bumping up the damage output. Good luck doing that while under fire without getting killed. That can be a clumsy process because there’s just a single weapon wheel for both hands, and you have to select the switch hands option before you can access the left one. My biggest annoyance with dual wielding is that – without a late-game upgrade – you can’t pause the action to switch weapons. Unless, of course, you’re using one of the terrific high-powered guns salvaged from Nazi mech troopers that require both hands but often include their own built-in alt-fire mode. It effectively lets you choose your own alternate fire mode. Dual wielding is also handy if you want to be able to quickly fire a shotgun blast if you blow your cover and the silenced pistol won’t get the job done on its own. Using Wolfenstein’s existing dual-wielding system to blast away with a machine gun in each hand feels just as great as before, letting you sacrifice accuracy for doubled-up firepower that’s effective in close or mid-range combat. “Wolfenstein 2 makes the most of its somewhat standard-feeling assortment of weapons (there’s a pistol, SMG, machine gun, shotgun, grenade launcher, etc) by letting you mix, match, and customize them to your heart’s content. It’s also entirely optional if you’d rather go in guns blazing, that works too, and it’s more of a challenge. ![]() Like The New Order, this isn’t exactly a “real” stealth game, in that enemies don’t raise an alarm when they spot a dead body (and you can’t hide corpses) and will sometimes spot you when you wouldn’t expect they could’ve, but this stealth gameplay is a good way to mix up the action and prevent every fight from beginning the same way. There are a lot of Nazis to kill, though, so you’re also encouraged to sneak into each encounter to thin out the herd by silently taking down troopers and, more importantly, their officers – if left alive to trigger the alarm, they’ll summon reinforcements. ![]() Whether they’re reacting based on what body part you’ve shot, getting sliced up in one of the varied melee kill animations, or bursting into flame and vaporizing before your eyes when you rake a heavy laser weapon across the screen, it’s quite a show. “Gruesomely murdering Nazis is already extremely satisfying, but it’s made even more so thanks to the fast and smooth first-person shooting action, and the rewarding performances the enemies put on during their death scenes. However, the developer has remained quiet on this matter since, leaving no indication of if these concerns will be addressed further before the game's release in October. In search of a way home, Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes, battle. Forspoken is an action RPG that follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. Other descriptors of Forspoken's main character seen to be negative Black stereotypes were also criticised, such as a mention of Frey as being "an orphan" and "very angry".įollowing these concerns, Square Enix did initially assure Eurogamer it had worked "closely with a number of consultants from BIPOC backgrounds to help portray Frey's character and tell the story from her perspective." Lose yourself in a thrilling tale about Frey Holland as she discovers where she belongs in the world. Forspoken will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on May 24, 2022, publisher Square Enix and developer Luminous. This is, the duo will start off as "frenemies", as Frey will initially be reluctant to save Athia, while for Cuff it is essential she does.īut while this adjustment in the frequency of dialogue will surely be a welcome change during the game's delay, it's unclear if changes will be made to Frey's character following criticism of racial stereotyping.įollowing a preview for Forspoken in December, Square Enix came under fire for describing its protagonist Frey, who is Black, as having a "hip-hoppy kind of walk". However, Mitsuno is keen to stress that while the frequency of the in-game chatter is being adjusted, the overall dynamic and tone between Frey and Cuff will be remaining the same. So, we are taking a lot of feedback and making sure we're adjusting things to make sure that it's kind of the optimal experience." "You know, you don't want it to be noise, obviously. "But we don't want it to be too much," continued Mitsuno. ![]() ![]() Instead, the team is now working towards a balance "where it doesn't feel like there's too much silence when you're playing out in the vast world." ![]() But then the next area has decidedly less powerful foes. Without a buddy to deliver a shotgun and chair, the player's life is in great danger and they probably will care about that. ![]() For example, at one point, going out the north area leads players into a likely bear encounter. The open world nature of the game can be both a blessing and a curse. iCloud support is enabled, and save history goes back to the last 10 saves, in case of emergency. The game looks great on a bevy of devices it looks phenomenal on the iPhone 5, with maximum draw distance enabled, but it still shines on even the iPad 2, though draw distance is reduced by default this can be configured in the settings. Using bows improves the skill in that, same with melee weapons and defense. And the best way to level up a skill? Just keep at it. Then I switch to a melee weapon and strategically pick them off. It’s just cool to go into stealth mode, pull out a bow and arrow, shoot it at an unaware foe for additional damage, and then watch as they rush in a hope to get some damage in before they get picked off. But there’s fun in figuring out tactics and using stealth to get the upper hand. The combat largely has players switching between their melee weapon of choice, with selective magic attacks and a ranged weapon to use as well. Most everywhere that is visible is explorable. This is quite the sizable game: there’s over a dozen large-scale outdoor areas to explore with a selection of indoor areas to also explore, along with a big central town to explore. ![]() Of course, that’s if the player really feels like it: there’s plenty of sidequests and other things to do while checking out the world. Set 500 years after the original Ravensword: The Fallen King, this puts players in the shoes of a warrior who survived a great battle under mysterious circumstances, and now he is the only one who can cast the great evil down to whence it came. Crescent Moon Games has had a very busy 2012, and the studio has saved its best for last: Ravensword: Shadowlands is a stunningly impressive open-world RPG. ![]() ![]() The couple announced their engagement in early 2015 and on August 15 of the same year, they walked down the aisle.
